WEDDING TIPS
KEEPING TO A BUDGET
|
Timely planning helps reduce fees & last-minute expenses. Keep a checklist & Calendar as a reminder of what needs to be booked & when fees need to be paid. This will help you to keep to your budget, so you’re not caught-out just before your wedding day with lots of fees still outstanding. You will be confident & able to relax, knowing that your wedding & honeymoon is fully paid for.
To keep prices down, try to avoid peak times within the Wedding Industry. November through to March are usually the busiest times of the year for weddings. Also, perhaps consider a week-day wedding

Cutting down your guest list can also save you hundreds of dollars. Guests who are not in a relationship should be invited solo. Limit family guests to immediate family members & grandparents. No need to invite long-lost relatives. Only include friends who you regularly see, not those who you haven’t seen in the past 5 years.
Limit what you have on offer at the Reception if you are having a bar-tab. Stick to house wines, beers & possibly extend the tab to include house spirits.

When it comes to accessories & decorations, sometimes less is more. Invest in larger centrepieces that your guests will notice, that will give a “wow” effect, rather than lots of small items that make your reception look cluttered. Candles add both style & a romantic ambiance for the fraction of the price of floral centre-pieces.
The Internet offers so much choice & great prices!! Because on-line stores do away with costly overheads, the consumer benefits with items being a fraction of the price of retail wedding boutiques. On-line shopping is so much fun as well!!!

When choosing your wedding flowers, choose those that are in season & readily available as they will be considerably cheaper. Another consideration is to have artificial flowers for your bouquets & decorations. Two advantages for this are firstly…they are much cheaper than real flowers, and secondly…they will last forever as keep-sakes. I personally chose artificial roses for my bouquets & they worked out at approx $70 cheaper per bouquet than if I had chosen real roses.

Enjoy, relax, deligate & be well-prepared in advance. Better to research & book early to avoid disappointment. Once you settle on your suppliers, set up your own schedule of payments. About 2 months before the big day, contact your suppliers to confirm all the details | | |
